roads, they are clear and dry no big issues there, tam. >> thank you, karen. developing overnight, we're getting new information about a deadly officer-involved shooting in new castle county. police say an officer fired at a man after a struggle. katherine scott is live near the apartment complex in new castle with more details on the story. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the circumstances surrounding this remain under investigation. there are a lot of unanswered questions. police say a 28-year-old man died in the officer-involved shooting. you can see there are police vehicles on the scene. there are some blocking the entrance to coachman's mannor and roger's mannor park across the street. there are people who can't get back into their apartments at coachman's mannor. there are a bunch of them sleeping in their cars waiting

to get back home. new castle county police responded to carriage away around 7:45 p.m. they were called for a welfare check. a 28-year-old man from philadelphia began struggling with an officer, shots were fired, the 28-year-old was hit. he was taken to christian medical center where he later died. that's all police have released at this point. it is unclear if the 28-year-old was person they were called to check on. police have not said if he was armed. meanwhile, residents can't get back home as the investigation continues, so they are sleeping in their cars at a nearby gas station. >> i have kids in the house, age 17 all the way to 3 months, waiting for me to come home. i'm waiting, so we have to stay here and wait. >> i came from work straight here i go back to work, my

dispute. they came upon a man dragging a woman into a green minivan. police later found the van, but there's no sign of the man or woman, we'll continue to keep tabs on story and have a live update in the neck half-hour. students were caught bringing air guns to two different schools in two separate incidents. police found the gun in the roxborough section yesterday afternoon. chopper 6 hd was over the scene as a student was taken in for questioning and the lockdown was lifted. the school district is cooperating with the investigation. the other incident happened in birdsboro, berks county. a student told a principal that another student was spotted with a semi automatic pistol and folding knife. the school went on lockdown while state police did a search. they detained a 15-year-old boy

when they discovered an air soft gun and a knife. u.s. marshalls are assisting in the search for an elderly judge who went missing at his scranton home. he just recently stopped hearing federal cases because of health issues. he is driving a gray 2015 acura with drivers side damage. a 13-year-old is faces charges in connection with to vandalism at a synagogue. the crime was captured on surveillance video. the stain glass windows were targeted twist before in december and january. police have not linked this boy to the cases. happening today, we may learn more about joe biden's new role with the university of pennsylvania. he will join penn president amy gutman for discussion at irvine
